Blogger's Challenge #44: Color Challenge

I'm actually writing this post on Tuesday night and should actually be packing for the trip that I'll be on when you are actually reading this!

Our challenge was a color challenge this week using So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Brocade Blue and Chocolate chip. I used these colors although my picture is HORRIBLE and showing the blue as some sort of purple. If I weren't supposed to be packing, I'd not post this card and make a new one but....

I used versamark to adhere clear embossing powder a total of three times! To make the cross layer, I used a piece of watercolor paper, wet it down and added the saffron, blue and celery. Then, dried it with my heat tool and stamped the cross atop it.

Thanks for looking and I promise a better offering next week! Be sure to check out some real art and see what the others were up to!

Happy stamping!

Blogger's Challenge #43: Chipboard

Or, as a Stampin' Up! Demonstrator, we call it On Board! I used the flower from the On Board Blossoms to create a fun frame to hang...somewhere! I think it will work in my kitchen somewhere!

Some apologies: First, the picture is not so great! I should have framed it without the glass! Second, blogger's challenge is really supposed to be posted on Friday!!! My excuse was a good one. My MIL and FIL visited for just Friday night and have I mentioned that other than my husband, I have the BEST in-laws!!! My husband also has wonderful in-laws! We are so blessed! So, the four of us played our Wii until the wee hours! Tee hee!

Thanks for looking and click on the link to see the other challenge players. I'm going to check those out next!

Blogger's Challenge #42: Triangle Box

Okay...I didn't make one triangle box. I made 11! Yum! Chocolate cake and ZERO calories!

I am NOT a cake decorator but I found inspiration from this cake.

I used a Stampin' Up pattern to make the boxes out of chocolate chip cardstock. Then, I used my Scallop and 3/4 inch circle punches to make the daisies. The leaves are the oval punches, folded and run through my crimper. The only stamping is not really visible...I used my Whisper White Craft Ink to add dots from Sweet Shapes stamp set.

My cake appears to "sink" in the middle but that's only because of the shape of the plate that I chose.

Thanks for looking and check out what other BC members did with this challenge!!!

Blogger's Challenge #41: Layout challenge!

Good Morning!

I know I am a day late for my BC...my apologies. I had an awesome fun workshop on Thursday night (hi girls!) and I didn't take time to stamp my BC before that so I was left to come up with it last night after school. Enough excuses...on with the challenge!!!

Our challenge was to use this layout on page 65 of the current Spring Summer Collection. After staring at the layout for a bit, Yappy Day on page 64 became my inspiration to come up with the challenge! I used Pumpkin Pie, Kraft and Whisper White as my color inspiration and found those colors in the both the Spring Break and Jersey Shore Designer Series papers. I embossed the saying and the bone and used the Paper Piecing to create my little dog! I used my Aquapainter and the lid for the Pumpkin Pie ink to make the embossing pop just a bit more. I added the Pumpkin Pie Striped Grosgrain ribbon and two Fire Circle Rhinestone brads in orange.

Make sure to check out what the other BC members have to share this week! I'm off to look myself!!! Thanks for looking!
