Double Duty! BC and Color Inspiration

I am off to my public library to help host After Hours at the Library. It's an appreciation event for all of the Friends of the Library Donors. It will provide an opportunity for them to see how the board (that's where I come in) of the Friends of the Library has used their donations. We will also be able to thank each donor!!!

So, here's my Color Inspiration Challenge PLUS my Friday Blogger's Challenge combined since there won't be any more stamping time until after tricks and treats tomorrow night!

The colors in the challenge are: Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, Sage Shadow (I am LOVING this color lately!) and whisper white. The Blogger's challenge was Halloween.

Thanks for looking!

Blogger's Challenge #70: Gift Giving

I made this little card ensemble to sell at my table last night at the annual Northland DSA event. I will use the ones that didn't sell as my Christmas/birthday gifts that I need.

I used the stamp set, Season of Friendship. I left the inside of each card blank so the purchaser can personalize for the event that they want to use it for. The envelope match the cards and then the little folder to hold it all together.

Be sure to see the gifts that the other Blogger's Challenge members came up with! You won't be disappointed!

Card Recipe:
Stamp set: Season of Friendship, Best Yet (hostess set)
Cardstock: Pumpkin Pie, Chocolate Chip, Very Vanilla
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Kiwi Kiss, More Mustard, Chocolate Chip
Other: Wide Oval Punch, Stampin Sponges, Sticky Strip, SNAIL adhesive, Stampin' Dimensionals, Pumpkin Grosgrain Ribbon, Horizontal Slot Punch

Back home!

Steve and I returned home last night after visiting my family for a few days. The teacher's conference was in Mankato again this year so we piggybacked a trip to see my family in southern MN. I used my personal days up for the year for a good reason this year!

Don't forget about the DSA at the Northland tomorrow night! I have some fun things planned for my table including selling my retired stamp sets!!!

Want to win?

Fellow Blogger's Challenge member, Creating with Chrissy is offering some blog candy! The items she is giving include her very own stamp sets! Click here to see the post!

Blogger's Challenge #69: Color Challenge!

Our challenge for this week was to create a card using Riding Hood Red, Old Olive and Really Rust. Since I finally figured out how to cut the cardstock for a Warhol card (and kept the measurements written on a post-it on my stampin station) I thought I would use that as my start.

We could also use a neutral with it and I chose Very Vanilla. I embossed the images on each piece and then added the paper piercing.

Although hard to see, I've used lots of dimensionals to pop each section up. I love dimensionals. I used to be so stingy with those and now, I go crazy with them!

Thanks for looking and be sure to see what the other players were up to this week.

Card Recipe:
Stamp set: Pocket Silhouettes
Cardstock: Riding Hood Red, Old Olive, Really Rust, Very Vanilla
Ink: Very Vanilla Craft ink
Other: Heat Tool, Embossing Buddy, Vanilla Stampin' Embossing Powder, Crafter's Tool Kit, Stampin' Dimensionals, SNAIL Adhesive

Color Inspiration #25

What a fun color combination for Kristina Werner's challenge this week. Made me think of 50s retro type of prints. I decided some homemade printed paper using stamps was in order and the rest of the card came from there.

Thanks for looking!

Blogger's Challenge #68: Inspiration!

For this week's challenge, Lisa gave us an inspiration piece! I LOVE THESE CHALLENGES! I can usually find something that helps me duplicate the inspiration.

I used circular images from two stamp sets, Priceless and True Friends. I used my Stamp a Majig to allow me to place my images so precisely. I finished off the card with a couple of layers under the main background and used the Curly Label Punch and Cute and Curly Set to give it the pillowy look from the inspiration piece.

Thanks for looking and be sure to check out how the other Blogger's Challenge members were inspired by this picture!

Card Recipe:
Sets: True Friend, Priceless, Cute and Curly (from Curly Label Punch Bundle)
Cardstock/Ink colors: Basic Black, Real Red, Whisper White
Other: Curly Label Punch, Stamp a Majig

Yum-O Mini Ham Puffs!

On Tuesday, I had my Stampin' Stampede and THANK YOU to those of you who came!!! I had a BLAST!!!!!

I served Mini Ham Puffs and it's not an original recipe of mine but I don't know whose recipe it is but several asked for it so I thought I would start by posting it here.

Mini Ham Puffs

pkg Crescent Rolls
1/4 lb ham , chopped well (I put the ham in the food processor with the onion and that made it super easy!)
1 C. Swiss Cheese (I used shredded fancy cheddar jack)
1/2 C Onion
1 egg
1 T mustard
pepper and garlic powder to taste. You don't need salt...the ham and rolls make it salty!

Roll out rolls to a rectangle and cut into 24 squares. Press into mini-muffin pan that has been greased. Combine all other ingredients and put one spoonful in each muffin cup. Bake at 350 degrees for about 12-24 minutes until lightly browned.

I also served BBQ Meatballs...1 pkg of frozen meatballs, 1/2 large jar of grape jelly and 1 jar of chili sauce. Put in a crockpot on high for two hours and then on low for 1 hour. That's it!

Blogger's Challenge #67 Falling for you PLUS A Color Challenge....

Can I make the title any longer? This is what happens when you combine two challenges into one. I combined my Blogger's Challenge this week with Kristina Werner's color challenge.

The Challenge that Lisa issued was "Falling for You" based on Love/Anniversary. Of course, I'm a sap for my dh, so I made my anniversary card a tad bit early. He'll probably see it early, too. I love him so much. I totally had given up on getting married, joking several times about starting the first Lutheran convent. Then, God placed a new pastor in my church and then in my heart. Actually, I think in the reverse order. I met him when he was visiting before he actually accepted the call to be the pastor and I started flirting that day. He comments on that day that either I was a lot of fun or totally crazy. I wonder if he's decided yet....

Color challenge #24 by Kristina Werner was pumpkin pie, kiwi kiss, chocolate chip and very vanilla. The technique I used is from Technique Junkies. LOVE those ideas, Pat!!!! I know I've shared before but I've been a subscriber for a LONG time and it's SO worth it!!!

Thanks for checking out ALL of the challenges. One more thing...come to my Stampin' Stampede (thanks Patti C!) next Tuesday!!! It's going to be a BLAST!
