Blogger's Challenge #75: Inspiration!

ABSOLUTELY loved this challenge! I usually do love the inspiration challenges! The picture above was the wonderful image Lisa chose for us this time...couldn't you curl right up in that?

I chose to use the Bella Toile background stamp. I stamped it on Very Vanilla Cardstock, twice, in the same place. Then trimmed the inside piece evenly all around so the image would line up after I layered!

I added the ribbon and the Birthday sentiment and won't this make a wonderful card for Steve's Grandma's birthday in December? Thanks for looking and go and see what the other BC members did with this inspiration piece!

Color Inspiration #32

For Kristina's Color Inspiration #32, I chose a Christmas theme. The colors were Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Riding Hood Red and a Metallic (or Sahara Sand...but my Brushed Silver was crying for attention so I gave it some!)

I began with using my Staz-On white to stamp the snowflakes all over the background. I had to tip the picture to capture this look.

Then, I embossed Silver onto the Brushed Silver. I love this layered, textured look. Then, I used every color to layer the card. The final touch was adding the Riding Hood Ribbon and the Season's Greetings sentiment. All of the stamps are from the Snow Swirled stamp set by Stampin' Up!

Hope you had a GREAT Thanksgiving! We sure did!

Blogger's Challenge #74: Giving Thanks

Our challenge was to give thanks this week for the Blogger's Challenge. I have seen many cards done with this style and hope I have found my own version of it. First, punch a circle out of a post-it and adhere it to the top of glossy cardstock. You can either use a brayer or like I did, use sponges to add your background sunset. I went with Earth Elements colors: Summer Sun, More Mustard, Pumpkin Pie, Ruby Red, and Really Rust. Remove the post-it and stamp as you wish.

The grass silhouette stamp is from Inspired by Nature and the Thank you phrase from Upsy Daisy. I smeared my saying when I stamped it directly onto the glossy cardstock. So, a little un planned touch of an oval punch was added...I liked it! I finished it off with some More Mustard ribbon.

Thanks for looking and see what the other girls are doing for their "thankful" cards this week!

Color Inspiration #31

This was a more challenging color combo. I decided that solid, bold stripes would highlight these colors best (okay, at least for me!) I have ZERO stamping on this card which is unusual for me! I love to stamp. But, I have had these rub-ons from the Hidden Garden rub-ons sitting on my stamping station since I came home from convention and they needed some love. I think it works well.

If you want to see MANY (there were about 175 last week!) ways to use these colors, go check out the original challenge post on Kristina's site!

Have a great day! I'll have my Blogger's Challenge up for you tomorrow!

Blogger's Challenge #73: Baja Chocolate YUM!

Our challenge was a fun and simple one: Baja Breeze, Chocolate Chip and either Whisper White or Very Vanilla. I went with the white and the rest, is history!

I began with Say it With Scallops. Money from the sale of EACH set goes to the Ronald McDonald House Charities! I inked the entire stamp with Baja Breeze, then used my Blender Pen to remove the color from the star, exclamation point and the O and used the Chocolate Chip marker to reink just those colors. This is a neat solution for the In-Colors as we don't have markers for those (BUMMER!) I punched it out with the coordinating Scallop Square punch.

I used a scrap from the Ski Slope DSP from the Holiday Mini catty. After adding a few swirls from Priceless, another fab set, I put all of the layers together and added a mini library clip to cap it off!

I just know that there are going to be AWESOME projects from the other members so remember to click on the Blogger's Challenge on my sidebar and see what they were up to!

Color Inspiration #30

Sahara Sand, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, and Whisper White! Such great colors and so soothing and relaxing.

I have two cards to share for this one. I needed an anniversary card for a special couple in my life.

The first card is a clear card base. I got that idea from Kristina herself from her last MACM post.

The second is a basic card in which I was trying to use an offset layout. This is a challenge for me as I like things centered!

Thanks for looking!

Blogger's Challenge #72: Same but different

Sorry that I'm a day late! I finished my cards last night but WOW was I tired! That is, until I went to bed. Then, I read (my patient and more tired husband let me keep a light on!) until I finished one section of my book. I turned off the light and had one of the best sleeps in weeks!

Now, I'm ready to tackle my Saturday projects of cleaning and hopefully some stamping but I need to post my BC cards!!!

I found my inspiration on Thursday night while attending a Scentsy party. Hailey L. from my area was the consultant and while I mentioned that I was looking for inspiration for my challenge, she went to her car and brought in some cards that she had borrowed from a demo from a competing stamp company! I found this layout on one of the cards and this is what I did with it, using Stampin' Up of course!

It's a really simple layout that doesn't require too many supplies but you could jazz it up as much as you like, too!

Make sure to check out what my fellow BC members came up with for this challenge! That's my next goal!

Happy Saturday!

Color Inspiration #29! WOW!

When I looked at these colors this morning, my jaw dropped and I thought how in the world will this work? Well, not only did it work but I actually like my results!

When I looked at these colors this morning, my jaw dropped and I thought how in the world will this work? Well, not only did it work but I actually like my results!

I used the Scallop Circle die cut for the Big Shot and my coluzzle to create the circle for my butterfly from Flight of the Butterfly to float around on. Adding a little bit of paper piercing gives some dimension and texture and the ribbon added a touch more Pumpkin Pie into the mix that I think the card needed. Hope you like it, too!

Want to see more cards with these colors? Click HERE to go to the post on Kristina Werner's site and check out all of the comments and the links there and you will see SO many cute cards and projects!
