Catalog Mailing information!

Happy New Year...a little early!

Stampin' Up! just let the demonstrators know that the mailings for the Occasions Mini catalog and Sale-a-Bration catalog are running behind schedule and will not be in your mailbox by the time that those sales begin. (January 5, 2010) So, if you would like me to email a copy of either catalog or both to you, please let me know and I will try. The Occasions Mini is a LARGE document so I didn't want to just send it out without your request!

Sale-a-Bration will start on January 5th and it's an exciting one this year! With each $50 merchandise purchase, you can choose one of four exclusive stamp sets or a 72 sheet 6 by 6 paper pack or a border punch!!! (The punch will be available to order in the 2010-2011 Idea Book and Catalog.) But there's more....this year, you can also choose from a HUGE list of wood-mount sets from the Idea Book & Catalog valued at $15.95 and under!!!

The Occasions Mini is exciting because it's the first time that Stampin' Up! will be offering Clear-Mount sets!!!!

Blogger's Challenge #131: Merry CHRISTmas!

It's been a little different Christmas for us this year. We are in the middle of a blizzard and church was cancelled. So strange to have the pastor at home! He recorded a service when the forecast was for a blizzard and dropped it off at the radio station. I am listening to church while the guy sharing church on the radio is sitting in the next room. (He refused to listen to himself...can't blame him for that, I guess!)

My stamping share has NO stamping at all! Can you believe it? You could add a hand-stamped sentiment tag with the receiver's name to fix that! I've shown it as a gift card holder, a little candy treat holder and for demonstrators, a fun way to hand out your business cards!

I made these using my Big Shot and the Bigz Petal Card die. Super super easy and quick to whip up! The DSP is the Christmas Cocoa specialty paper. It's only available for a few more days so let me know if you'd like to order quick before it unavailable!

I pray that all of you have a wonderful celebration of our Savior's birth today!

Blogger's Challenge #130: Sketch time!

Today's Blogger's Challenge was a sketch challenge. You may recognize the sketch because it's the same sketch I used last week!!! Lisa came up with a great one so it deserves two weeks of center stage!

This time, though, I turned the sketch:

This is the card that I came up with. I needed a sympathy card for a friend whose grandmother passed. This gave me an excuse to use some sneak peeks stamps...you'll be seeing these in the upcoming Occasions mini! Need a copy of the new Occasions mini? Let me know!!

Thanks for looking and please take some time to see what the other players did with the sketch!!! Happy Friday!

Blogger's Challenge#128: Ornament or decoration

Today's post is here first, because I like to meet my challenges and second to show you that not all projects turn out beautifully.

I stamped with White Staz-on onto my clear glass ornament. I did pretty good, only smearing in a few places where I thought the next part of the process would disguise, so I continued.

I added Eggplant Envy ink refill to the inside and turned and turned the ornament until all was covered. Then, I sprinkled in some dazzling diamonds glitter. Then, I turned it upside-down to dry. Here's what I woke up to:

Half of it's covered and half looks NOT GOOD!!! But, I will try this again with some changes. I cannot control your comments but you do not have to leave any comments saying it looks good...I know it doesn't and I'm okay with that. I am posting in hopes that you will have suggestions on improving my technique for the next ornament that I do!

Blogger's Challenge #127: Alter It!

This was supposed to be my inspiration for my Blogger's Challenge this week: I had it all figured out. I got out my Pop-Up Christmas tree die out and cut away using my Big Shot. I even put the tallest piece in before I made the tree...it fit. Until, I finished the tree. I forgot about the base!

So, I put my tree into this container I bought a year or two ago for something at school. I have NO idea what to call this...other than simply "Cute Christmas Decoration!"

Be sure to check out what the other Blogger Challenge players altered this week! I'm going to right away...(I always wait to see theirs until I finish mine!!! I don't want to accidently copy them!) Happy day..remember to check out my website for the Stampin' Up! Holiday Extravaganza Sale!!!!! www.lisabohler.stampinup.net

Blogger's Challenge #126: Giving Thanks!

I didn't make a traditional fall-looking card this week. I was inspired by this card by Debbie Olson. I put my own spin on it for a Thank You card and came up with this:

I began with the Damask image from Friends 24-7 and Very Vanilla Craft Ink. Then, I ran it through my Big Shot and added the Pattern texture. I highlighted the texture with my Elegant Eggplant ink pad. Lots of distressing later plus adding ribbon and my background was complete!

Be sure to be thankful this week and also I would thank you to check out what the other BC players came up with!

Blogger's Challenge #125 Happy Fall Y'all!

Our challenge for this week was to create a fall card with the theme, Happy Fall Y'all! I brought out a stamp set from the dormant list (available to purchase but not shown in any catalog) called Branch Out. I just had to have this set last year and I'm so glad I got it!

I stamped the tree in Chocolate Chip on Naturals Ivory cardstock. Then using the leaf stamp from the set, I used Old Olive, Ruby Red, Really Rust, More Mustard and Pumpkin Pie to add the fall leaves on the trees and the ground.

I saw this layout on a recent blog but didn't keep who had done the layout originally so please let me know if you do!!! I used More Mustard, Ruby Red and Pumpkin Pie strips of cardstock to layer the border on the side. Adds lots of texture!

Please make your own fall card today and check out what the other BC members "fell" for this week!

Blogger's Challenge #124: Technique Time!

Our challenge today was to feature a technique. I love to heat emboss and this is a fun way to do that!

First, decide on your background image. I used Bella Toile background stamp in Dusty Durango. I allowed that to dry and then used my embossing buddy over it. Then, using a Versamark pad and Clear Embossing powder, I stamped and embossed the Medallion stamp right over the first image. This allows you to "protect" parts of the background image with another image. Then, I sponged all over the Medallion image with Soft Suede and a Sponge Dauber.

Try your hand at this technique and also check out what techniques the other Blogger's Challenge members were trying out this week!

Blogger's Challenge #123: Happy Halloween!

Our challenge this week was anything Halloween! I combined the Monday Technostamper challenge as I had this card done on Sunday but it wasn't just right. So it sat on my desk all week until I added the sentiment with the double layer of the Modern Label Punch. I'm running late this morning, so I'll let my card explain itself. MJ's sketch also follows! Check out the other challenge players!!!

Blogger's Challenge # 122: NO LAYERS!

This is always so HARD for me! When I first began stamping, I never added layers. Now that I have for years, it's hard to go back to that! I need some dimension!

I began by taking the new Ornament punch and making my own stencil with it. Then, I sponged the ornaments with Ruby Red and Old Olive ink onto the Kraft cardstock. I used my Paper-Piercing tool (now available without the kit for only $3.50!!!) and made tiny holes to hold my Silver Elastic Cord (my dimension!) I stamped the sentiment from Heard From the Heart but it wasn't quite complete. I used the Corner Rounder punch to round each corner and then sponged away all around the edge to frame the card.

Please take some time to see what the other players in this challenge were up to! You will not be disappointed!!!

Blogger's Challenge #121: Alter it!

This may be the fastest and cheapest project ever posted on the internet!

I saved this Crystal Light container this summer and just knew it would come in handy during an alter it challenge. When looking at it today and thinking about the upcoming holidays, an idea was born. This one:

I took a piece of the flocked Christmas Cocoa specialty Designer Series paper and wrapped it around the container. Then, I spent about 5-10 minutes on my Digital Studio and designed my Curly Label tag. I cut it out and attached it with the Whisper White Satin ribbon. I cut a slot in the lid and now I've got a way to put some coins aside for Christmas splurging!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #92

I made this card for our God-daughter who is celebrating her birthday today! Happy Birthday, SB!

I don't know why my copy of the sketch is so small but it is...maybe if you go to MJ's site, you'll see a regular size sketch!

I've been trying to keep my blog posts shorter. If you want more details on any card, please contact me and I'd be glad to help you out!

Have a GREAT day!

Blogger's Challenge #120: Sketch Challenge

I liked this sketch that our list mom Lisa gave us:

I was mostly inspired by my new stamp set Extreme Elements and started with the background. I wanted something kind of funky to go with it, so I added the Taken with Teal piece after running it through my crimper a bunch and then added the ribbon and shredded the ends! I also wanted to use the Sweet Cups from the Holiday mini catalog. Fun with glitter, isn't it?

I'm off to school! Be sure to see what the other players did and PLEASE...play along with us!!!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #91

Here's the sketch for the week:

And here's my take on it! I used the same technique that I did with my blogger's Challenge. I'll show you what it is at your workshop or class....hint hint!

Have a super day!

Blogger's Challenge #119: LOVE!!!

Well, anyone who knows me, knows how much I LOVE my dear husband, Steve. We didn't meet until I was 29 and after a short time of dating (less than a month) we were engaged! Our anniversary isn't until November but for once, I'll be prepared and have my card done!

I was inspired by a card from the latest Stampin' Success, a magazine printed by Stampin' Up! for SU demonstrators. The triple panel layout idea came from a blog (sorry...I can't recall which one!) The idea was to use the new Platinum shimmer paint! Want to learn how to do this? I'll show you at a workshop or a class!!! Call or email me to book one right away!

Have a wonderful Saturday!

Monday Lunchtime Sketch Challenge #89

Well, I accomplished my first project in My Digital Studio and completed the Technostamper Challenge. I have a LOT to learn in MDS but this card took my 15 minutes, max, and it was my first project ever. I did everything from a blank layout. It's really fairly easy to learn. Here's what I did:

I've got to figure out how to make the layer square but not too terrible for my first try ever!!!

Thanks for looking and hope that you take time to check out the other "real" cards!!! I promise that I won't be making every project digital. I'd miss my cardstock WAY too much!!!!

Blogger's Challenge #118: Designer Series Paper

Good day!

I have TWO cards to share for this challenge! Our challenge was to feature DSP or Designer Series Paper. I just LOVE our DSP from Stampin' Up! The first card uses Cottage Wall. It's been a really popular choice for everyone! Don't you just love these colors? I don't wear purple but I love to stamp with it!

My second card features Nouveau Chic. How about these colors together? I just LOVE Basic Gray! Then match it up with Basic Black, Sage Shadow, and Apricot Appeal and what a winning combination!

I'm at a retreat for church worker wives. I am a church worker but I'm married to a pastor so this should be a good event! I want to thank the First English, Eldred MN and the Our Savior's, Crookston congregations for paying my way to make it possible for me to attend!

Have a GREAT day!

Well, at first I didn't know what to do with this challenge. Then, looking through some card samples that I keep around here, I got this brainstorm to run a portion of the card through the Big Shot and use a Texturz plate...the rest came quite easily after that!

Here's the sketch:

Thanks for looking and play along...and post it on MJ's blog!
