Blogger's Challenge #108: A Stitch in Time
Good day!
The challenge for this Friday was to use stitching on our project. You'll have to look closely to find it on my even though the stitching was one of the first things I did! Sometimes less is more?
My first inspiration was to use my Woodgrain background stamp again. This time you can see it! I then used dry wall tape and my Basic Black marker to add the stitch marks around the background. This is one of the fantastic (and super easy) techniques you can find in the Technique Junkie Newsletter. I've mentioned it before and I've been a subscriber for a very long time. Also, Pat (the founder) is a Blogger's Challenge member! There's a link to the TJ site on my sidebar.
Another fun technique that also created a stitched look was to run a piece of the solid Soft Suede DSP through the Big Shot with the new Perfect Details Texture plate. Using the sanding block gently over it shows the white highlights. That's why you use the DSP instead of plain cardstock as the DSP has a white core and our cardstock is solid, pure color!
My next inspiration was to use this sketch from the Mojo Monday blog. Isn't it a fun one?
Please be sure to see what the other BC members stitched up this week with this challenge!
Happy Friday!
