Blogger's Challenge #37: Shaped Card!

I know that it's not Friday...but Friday is going to go WAY too fast so I'm posting on Thursday! It's been Lutheran Schools Week at school and everyday has been BUSY and FUN!!! Now, tomorrow night, our church is hosting a high school choir and band from Nebraska. Steve and I are having four (that's right, four!) high school boys staying the night with us following their concert. Since Steve is the pastor, we're also attending the dinner at 5:00 before the concert and then will be hosting til morning!

Anywho, here's my challenge offering! Our challenge was to make a shaped card, any shape, just not a rectangle. Easy! I went with a circle. When I decided that my Coluzzle wasn't quite as large as I wanted my card to be, I chose a bowl from the cupboard to trace. I then used my corner rounder (after removing the guard) to add the scallops. I did the top and the bottom of the card separately as the punch would only go through one layer at a time.

I used my Coluzzle to cut the white and black layers, though. Initially, I wasn't going to "scallop" these layers but after looking at the card and thinking something wasn't quite right, I added the scallops and was very pleased!

I stamped images from the Wanted stamp set on the River Rock scalloped card. I used my Signo White Gel Pen to follow a technique that fellow BC member, Anita Van Hal shared this past week called the Bandana tech. I also used the pen to add a little detail to the black layer.

Lisa Somerville used this color combo a couple of times in the past week and that was my inspiration for color. So, even members of the BC group use each other to be inspired!

Thanks for looking! I'm off to stamp a few cards that need to be ready with NO time to stamp this weekend!
