Blogger's Challenge #58: Color Challenge

Some of you may be surprised that I am posting! I am actually prepping this post early Sunday morning before church and am setting it to post on Friday...let's hope that it does!

Why am I not posting in person? I am in Salt Lake City, Utah attending the Stampin' Up Convention! I'm probably on a stamping high and anxious to share LOTS of ideas with you! We should book your party right away and take advantage of these brain waves!

On to the challenge....The colors included in this challenge were: So Saffron, Old Olive, Pumpkin Pie and Rose Red...what a gorgeous combination!!!!!!!!! They inspired me to make my own patterned paper...with a twist!

I took an upcoming stamp set called "Wow Flowers" and created a pattern with the colors in the combo. Then, added a little bit more color by using the spot from the set Pick a Petal. Then, the twist....I cut the piece into 1/2 inch strips and adhered it to my Old Olive card, flipping every other strip. I added the striped Pumpkin Pie ribbon and a scallop from Old Olive cardstock. I layered the Happy Birthday image from the Wow Flowers set onto a piece of Pumpkin Pie cardstock and I was finished!

Very nicely done Lisa. I love the way you made your own paper - an easy technique but beautifull affect. Hope you had fun at convention...
